The fall 2021 Adopt-A-Highway clean up is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 3, with a rain date on Sunday, Oct. 24.
The group will meet at 7:45 a.m. at Winans Ave., and Vestal Road in Vestal, NY. Park on Winans Ave. At 8 a.m. we will head out in socially distanced groups of 2-3 to clean up our section of Route 17 until 9:30 a.m.
Breakfast: Waterman's Cafe and Tasting Barn, 6172 Route 434, Apalachin, next to the Dug Out. It's operated by the owners of the Vestal Coal House and offers a delicious Sunday brunch menu with items such as buttermilk pancakes, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, smoothie bowls, and cinnamon French toast. Most choices include home fries.
Directions: From Rt 17 Eastbound, take Exit #68 for Old Vestal Road. At the end of the ramp, turn right on Pearl Street, turn right on Old Vestal Road, pass Fourth Avenue and turn right on Winans Avenue.
Please wear sturdy work shoes or hiking boots and your own heavy-duty work gloves if you wish. Dress according to the weather. Long sleeves and pants are recommended. We will also have work gloves as well as bags and safety vests.
It's a fun group activity and great exercise while keeping our community clean and beautiful. We hope you can join us.
